Paralyzed cyclist handcycles TransAmerica trail

Today's Pittsburg, KS, Morning Sun has an interesting article about Cliff Thompson, who is hand-cycling the TransAmerica Trail from Sheridan Lake, CO, to Camden, TN.
Thompson said he did lots of tour cycling before he became disabled, but he couldn't take up the sport again until he found a handcycle to purchase in 1998. He began doing wheelchair road racing in the mid-1990s.

The Transamerica Trail, established as part of bicentennial celebrations in 1976, goes through southern Missouri. According to Adventure Cycling it is the most-used cross-country bicycle route.
