Kansas City Public Works announces three public forums about the future of the Blue River Greenway:
Please join in developing new ways to think about the Blue River. This is an exciting opportunity for our City and region.

BLUE RIVER GREENWAY

Public Input Needed for Blue River Greenway Master Plan Study!!!

The City of Kansas City, Missouri, in conjunction with the US Army Corps of Engineers, are currently preparing a greenway master plan study of the lower Blue River.

This study will focus on natural resource conservation, recreation, and trail development along the lower Blue River (from Bannister Road, north to the Missouri River).

A vital component to this process is public involvement. Kansas City residents, business owners, and employees are invited to attend one of three public meetings to contribute their thoughts on the future of this important river corridor in Kansas City.

Meeting Objectives
  • Learn the benefits of Greenway systems
  • Identify key issues associated with the Blue River corridor
  • Help formulate a future vision of the lower Blue River corridor
Meeting Times and Locations
  • Monday, September 22, 5 - 7 p.m. at J.A. Rodgers School, 6400 E. 23rd St.

    From I-435, west on 23rd St., approximately 1 mile, school is on the North side of the street.

    From I-70, north on Van Brunt Blvd., east on 23rd St., approximately 1/2 mile, School is on the North side of street.

  • Tuesday, September 23, 5 - 7 p.m. at Swope Parkway Health Center, 3801 Blue Pkwy.

    South of Brush Creek, at the Southeast corner of Blue Pkwy and Cleveland, in Building A at east end of the complex.

  • Wednesday, September 24, 5 - 7 p.m. at Hillcrest Community Center, 10401 Hillcrest Rd.

    From I-435, east on Bannister Rd., south on Hillcrest Rd., approximately 1
    mile, Center is on the East side of the street.
This collaborative process will result in recommendations reflecting the desires and values of the people of Kansas City. The end result of this process will be a reflection of the vision and priorities of Kansas City's residents, business owners and employees, and government.
