The Frisco Highline Trail, currently under construction, will eventually
stretch from Springfield to Bolivar. Part of the trail, from Springfield through Willard to Walnut Grove, is already constructed. According to a
Springfield News-Leader article:
Business owner Barbara O'Quinn remembers that many wondered what good a greenway trail would be for Willard.
Now, support is so strong that the holiday lighting display along the trail will be twice the size of last year's — extending from the trail's intersection with Greene County O to Willard High School. . . .
And while her flower shop might not seem a magnet for trail users, Barbara O'Quinn said she believes an increase in business is due partly to the trail and trail users who come inside to look at merchandise.
"It's brought more life to downtown," she said.
