SpringBike bicycle club highlighted

A Springfield News-Leader story highlights the accomplishments of SpringBike:

While fun and camaraderie are components of Springbike, in recent years the club has also promoted safe biking through its cycling advocacy committee. Springbike has a voice in the Springfield Vision 20/20 plan; the club's hope is to develop a network of safe cycling routes along city streets that connect to residential neighborhoods, parks and shopping centers. . . .

As a result of lobbying by the club, "Share the Road" signs — which remind motorists to be aware of cyclists — have been posted by the Missouri Department of Transportation along the routes, Galvin said.
