Four-mile River Des Peres trail set to open in St. Louis area
posted by Brent Hugh at 3/28/2005 02:05:00 PM
According to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch article:
Some time this fall, bicyclists and walkers will use a new four-mile trail along the River Des Peres, built at a cost of $5.5 million by the Great Rivers Greenway District. . .

The greenway is the pilot project of the 1998 River Des Peres Beautification Plan, a joint project of the city, St. Louis County, Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District, the Army Corps of Engineers and the East-West Gateway Coordinating Council.

"There's a whole master plan that calls for 11 miles of trails from the Mississippi to Forest Park."

There also is a plan to connect to Grant's Trail in South County.
