The Ozark Greenways web page has this announcement:
Yes, this is it: the event we’ve all been waiting for… the opening of the north half of the Frisco Highline Trail to Bolivar! We are really excited to announce the “Mayors Meet in the Middle” grand opening ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 24, high noon at the very geographic mid-point of the trail. Mayors from each of the towns along the trail will meet us there for an old-fashioned railroad style ribbon-cutting. We’ll also have a FREE lunch and enjoy the beautiful scenery along this new 18-mile section. Please come out and join us! The total trail is 35 miles long and is the second longest Rail-to-Trail in Missouri after the Katy Trail, which is the longest in the country.See also Ozark Greenways' maps of trails in the Springfield area.
