Bicycle Safety Fair in Farmington

The Park Hills Daily Journal reports:
When it comes to riding a bicycle safely on the streets of the Parkland, no one may know better than the Parkland Cyclists Club. They're the local group of bike riders who take regular rides around the area.

Saturday, they're hosting a Bicycle Safety Olympics to help the youngest pedalers be safe. From 9:30 a.m. until noon, they'll be at the south parking lot at the Farmington Centene Center with courses set up for kids in kindergarten through sixth grade to ride. . . .

“The Olympics includes nine stations and is designed to teach real skills that cyclists need to survive riding on the roadways,” [Organizer Virginia Blaine] explained. “We hope the Olympics will focus community attention on the need for cyclists training. Parents often have too much faith in the cycling abilities of their kids.”
