Wayne Goode Trail dedication at UMSL April 18

The University of Missouri-St. Louis sent along the following announcement.

Wayne Goode is a long-time Missouri legislator (44 years), former president and current board member of TrailNet, serves on MoBikeFed's legislative committee, and recipient of the "Service to Missouri Bicycling" Award from the Missouri Bicycle Federation in 2008:

This trail is part of two-state system of interconnected greenways, parks, and trails.

WHEN: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 18, ribbon cutting at 11:30 a.m.

WHERE: Wayne Goode Plaza
In front of the Millennium Student Center
University of Missouri ­ St. Louis
One University Blvd.
St. Louis, MO 63121

Refreshments will be served. Bikes will be available (ID needed) for riding the trail in cooperation with City Cycling. Parking will be available in Lot C. Named for former State Senator Wayne Goode, the paved biking-hiking trail runs through the UMSL campus. The trail is part of the Greenway District, a region-wide system of interconnected greenways, parks and trails known as the River Ring. When completed, the River Ring will join Missouri and Illinois and cover an area of 1,216 square miles. Development of the project is led by The Great Rivers Greenway District, a public organization. The district was established in November 2000 by the successful passage of the Clean Water, Safe Parks and Community Trails Initiative (Proposition C) in St. Louis City, St. Louis County and St. Charles County, Mo.
