The Missouri Bicycle Federation sent information to all candidates for office in Missouri this year, and invited each candidate to provide a statement of their position on bicycling and walking issues.
The statements from Missouri Governor candidates are below.Candidates are Kenny C. Hulshof (R), Jeremiah W "(Jay)" Nixon (D), Andrew W. Finkenstadt (L), and Gregory E. Thompson (I).
Jay Nixon has responded with this statement:
The beauty of Missouri can best be seen along the hundreds of miles of trails that cross our state. Trails add to our quality of life in Missouri and are a valuable resource for recreation and healthy exercise. I’m proud to have been a supporter of the Katy Trail since its beginning, and I continue to support trails and safe streets for walking and bicycling in our communities.
The other candidates have not yet responded with a statement.
