We need your help February 24th to take our message to legislators in Jefferson City

Join the Missouri Bicycle Federation in Jefferson City on Tuesday, February 24th, 2009, for the 3rd annual Bicycle Day in Jefferson City. Your help is needed as we meet with every state-level elected official to ask for their help to create a more bicycleable and walkable Missouri.
Register for Bicycle Day here
Registration is let us know you are coming and so we can keep you in the information loop.
Bicycle Day started two years ago with just about a dozen of us visiting legislators and officials. Last year we had about four dozen, and were able to make personal contact with every legislator's office.

This year we need your help to make Bicycle Day the best ever. Our goal is to have over a hundred in attendance from every corner of Missouri--because when you speak personally with your own elected officials, they really listen.

Over the past several years we have built an awareness among our public officials that there is a large and enthusiastic constituency for bicycling and walking in Missouri--people like you who enjoy bicycling, walking, running, and trails, who see the potential in Missouri to be one of the top states for these healthy outdoor activities.

But when your elected representative meets you and hears you talk about your passion for these issues, it really seals the deal.

Our elected officials all know that someone, somewhere supports better bicycling and walking. But they usually think in the back of their mind that it's someone somewhere else--on the other side of the state, or in a big city, or a small city, or maybe people who live in pleasant rural areas.

So when they meet you and make that personal connection with someone from their hometown, it really changes things.

The St. Louis Regional Bicycle Federation in cooperation with MoBikeFed is arranging for a bus transportation from the St. Louis area for a group of people--if you'd like more information on riding the bus, just contact Brent.
