Is your elementary school interested in encouraging more kids to walk to school? The PedNet Coalition of Columbia, in partnership with MoDOT's Safe Routes to School program, is presenting a series of FREE Walking School Bus (WSB) Training Workshops throughout Missouri this year. This is a tremendous opportunity for elementary schools interested in the health, educational, and other benefits of increasing the number of kids walking to school.
In addition to receiving top-quality training from the creators of one of the most successful WSB programs in the country, participating schools will qualify to apply for a renewable $1,500 mini-grant with ongoing technical assistance to help launch their own program.
The first workshops are in St. Louis (February 13), Cape Girardeau (March 4) and Rolla (March 5) with more to be scheduled this summer in Jefferson City, Springfield, Joplin, Kansas City, Maryville, Kirksville, and Hannibal.
