Photos from the Katy Trail Ride with Legislators, April 20th, 2009

The First Annual Katy Trail Ride with Legislators was a lot of fun.

Thanks to all who participated and helped, especially
  • The legislators who visited and rode with us
  • Jefferson City Director of Parks and Recreation Director Bill Lockwood (who talked about two new trail connections--from Jefferson City and Holt's Summit--that will soon meet up at the North Jefferson Katy Trailhead)
  • Department of Natural Resources Director Mark Templeton, who was kind enough to stop by and say a few words
  • MoBikeFed Board Members and staff Rachel Ruhlen, Fred Schmidt, Caryn Giarratano, and Randy Niere
  • The folks from the Department of Natural Resources who assisted in a number of different ways (besides making sure the trail was in top condition--as usual!)
  • The student groups from Jefferson City Public Schools and the Scuola Vita Nuova Charter School from Kansas City
Special thanks also to MoBikeFed members and supporters who joined us for the ride (traveling from long distances in some cases!) and to Chris Gerli of City Cycling Tours (Forest Park, St. Louis) who was kind enough to provide the rental bikes for legislators and a number of other participants.
