St. Louis area Congressman Lacy Clay has become the second Missouri congressman to co-sponsor the
Complete Streets Act of 2009.
Congressman Russ Carnahan previously signed on to the act as a co-sponsor.
The Complete Streets Act will require each state and metro area to develop and implement their own Complete Streets policy--meaning that all transportation plans and projects will include consideration for walking, bicycling, transit users, disabled people, the old, and the young.
We would like more Missouri congressmen and senators to sign on as co-sponsors--especially Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, who co-sponsored last year's bill but has not yet signed on this year.
You can help by spending five minutes to
contact your own congressman and senators about Complete Streets--to ask for their support or thank them for their support.
