Drury University expanding bike parking to accomodate growing bike culture

Drury University's new bike loan program has helped encourage a growing bike culture.  Administrators at the Springfield school are scrambling to expand bike parking to accommodate the surge of bikes on campus.  New racks are on order and a bike shelter is planned.

"They are chained to the tree, the rail, the post," said Wendy Anderson, director of campus sustainability. "Students start to complain."

"It's a good problem to have," Anderson said.Just a few years ago, Drury had only 10 bike racks and they were hardly in use.
