Help MoBikeFed grow--host a House Party, Mini-Event, Advocacy Training, or Bike Pit Stop
Would you like to help MoBikeFed grow and support what we are doing to make Missouri a better, safer place to walk and bicycle? Host a house party, mini-event, advocacy training, or bike pit stop.
They are all easy and fun ways to help build support for bicycling and walking in Missouri and get your friends, neighbors, and walking/running/hiking/biking buddies involved in MoBikeFed.
Organize a House Party
With 2-4 of your friends as an organizing committee, find a location, invite a speaker (who could be a MoBikeFed staff or board member), and invite your friends. MoBikeFed provides an easy registration page. Everyone who registers has an opportunity to donate to MoBikeFed and everyone becomes a member.
You hold the party, where everyone has a great time and learns a little bit about MoBikeFed and what we do.
To get started:
- Contact Brent Hugh, director@mobikefed.org or 816-695-6736
Organize a Mini-Event
Don't like to organize parties? How about a small ride, walk, hike, or run with 5-20 of your best friends?
With 2-4 of your friends as an organizing committee, plan the route and event and invite your friends. MoBikeFed provides an easy registration page. Everyone who registers has an opportunity to donate to MoBikeFed and everyone becomes a member. MoBikeFed provides event insurance and can provide you with an insurance certificate.
You hold the ride, walk, hike, or run, and everyone has a great time--and MoBikeFed has some new members!
To get started:
- Contact Brent Hugh, director@mobikefed.org or 816-695-6736
Organize a Bike or Hike Pit Stop
Do you have place in your neighborhood where many cyclists, hikers, walkers, or runners pass by at certain times of the week? A trail, or a common commuter route?
Set up along the route for an hour or two and provide water, air for tires, or an ABC safety check for cyclists. Share MoBikeFed membership materials that we'll provide. We'll provide training on how to set up the Pit Stop, what to do, and what to say to invite new members.
To get started:
- Contact Brent Hugh, director@mobikefed.org or 816-695-6736
Advocacy Training
Would you like to energize advocacy in your area?
With 2-4 of your friends as an organizing committee, find a location, and coordinate a minimum 4-hour time slot that works for you and MoBikeFed staff. Then promote the Advocacy Training across your community.
MoBikeFed provides an easy registration page. Everyone who registers has an opportunity to donate to MoBikeFed and everyone who registers becomes a member.
We hold the advocacy training, where everyone learns how to become better community advocates for bicycling and walking in a fun, interactive, hands-on training session.
Because the Advocacy Training is more extensive it will require minimum donation and attendance levels and/or financial support from local organizations. Contact director@mobikefed.org for details.
