MoBikeFed seeks Volunteer Web Developer for Personal Fund Raising Pages project
The MIssouri Bicycle & Pedestrian Federation is looking for a volunteer web developer to create and maintain event and fundraising pages MoBikeFed. The events will be Summer 2014.
DETAILS
The particular projects over the next few months:
- Set up a testbed system (Drupal/CivicRM) for development and test of features before roll-out
- Set up and maintain event registration and contribution pages through our CiviCRM system for this year's events (two bicycle rides, merchandise, and associated activities)
- Maintain existing event webpages (subpages of our Drupal system, example: RockIslandRamble.com) and possibly create new pages for new events.
- Build a 'personal contribution page' system. CiviCRM has a starter system but this system needs to be customized quite a bit or a different system put in place that can interface with our CiviCRM back-end.
- We currently use Drupal 6 and CiviCRM 4.2.2.
This is a volunteer position. However, long term we are looking a web developer to maintain our web site (Drupal and CiviCRM), take care of backups and upgrades, add needed features, and related tasks. We envision a major re-write/re-branding of the Federation's website in the next 1-3 years. The web site and CiviCRM back-end systems are crucial to MoBikeFed's statewide outreach, membership, and fundraising. The website has about 20,000 visitors each month and CiviCRM processes over 1500 donations and event registrations annually. We are looking for this web developer/maintainer to became a paid part-time or consultant position.
If you are interested in learning more or would like to become involved in one of the most important elements that makes our statewide bicycle and pedestrian advocacy work, please contact us for further details : director@mobikefed.org or 816-695-6736.
Further information and resources
CiviCRM developer information.
The personal contribution page system we are envisioning For CiviCRM is similar to this system (though we may be able to start with a simpler system for our immediate needs and work to improve and add features over time). In fact this system, which is available for download, might do exactly what we need with only ordinary minor customization. That is one of the options we would like the web developer to explore. The Drupal 6 compatible version of that module is available here. We are also open to other options for developing personal fundraising pages, though ideally any system would interface with our CiviCRM system as needed.
