U.S. Bicycle Route 76 Grand Opening in Missouri - Celebrations planned for June, October
The MoDOT, the Adventure Cycling Association, and local organizations in Farmington & Springfield have been organizing celebrations of the official adoption of U.S. Bicycle Route 76, the TransAmerica Trail, into the U.S. Bicycle Route system and the recent signing of the route by MoDOT.
Two celebrations are planned:
- Sat, June 7th, 2014, Willard, MO: Ride the Frisco Highline Trail and/or TransAmerica Trail route in the morning on your own, celebration in the afternoon at the Frisco Highline Trailhead in Willard. Riders will be encouraged to bike to nearby Walnut Grove, where the TransAmerica crosses the Frisco Highline. This is in conjunction with the 20 year anniversary of the Frisco Highline Trail and National Trails Day.
The Springfield event is organized by Ozark Greenways.
- Sat, October 11th, 2014, Farmington, MO: Ride USBR 76 from Elephant Rock to Farmington, about 25 miles SAG supporteed. In Farmington, lunch and a celebration will be held at Long Park.
