Multi-day bicycle rides march across Missouri
Iowa has RAGBRAI, Kansas has Bike Across Kansas, Illinois has GITAP and Bicycle Illinois, Indiana has TRIRI and RAINSTORM--and so on for nearly every state in the union.
So what multi-day bicycle rides does Missouri have?
There has been something of a renaissance of multi-day rides in Missouri over the last few years. Below is the rundown on the rides planned for 2015 that we know about. Why don't you give one of them a try?
Ride the Fault Line June 14-20
The Ride the Fault Line Tour is a seven day ride in Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
The ride starts in New Madrid, Mo, epicenter of the big quake, followed by overnights in Kennett, Mo., Paragould, Ark., Caruthersville, Mo., Reelfoot Lake State Park, Tn., Hickman, Ky., and Sikeston, Mo before finishing back in New Madrid. Riders experience the history of the great New Madrid earthquest of 1811-1812, tour an Ernest Hemingway home, visit Civil War historical sites, and cross the Mississippi on an authentic riverboat ferry.
Early registration ends Jan 11th, 2015.
Ride the Fault Line has also been a great supporter of MoBikeFed and statewide bicycle advocacy; the ride is a MoBikeFed Advocacy Event and a MoBikeFed Yellow Jersey Club member. Organizer Rodney McConnell has been one of our Capitol Day photographers for a few years and has taken some amazing shots of Capitol Day activities and the Legislators Ride.
Dates: June 14-20, 2015

Big BAM June 21-26
Big BAM is a new event for 2015 organized by Pedaler's Jamboree mastermind Michael Denehy and Missouri Life magazine--five days of riding, five days of music, 5 days of fun, and 300 miles across Missouri.
The ride takes you across the northern tier of the state, through Rock Port, Maryville, Albany, Unionville, Kirksville, and Canton.
The new event is off to a great start, with over 325 registered riders as of January 3rd.
Dates: June 21-26, 2015

Lucky's Ride May 1-3
St Louis-based advocacy powerhouse Trailnet is presented JAM (Journey Across Missouri) in 2014--a six-day ride from Kansas City to St Louis. This year, Trailnet's multi-day ride is Lucky's Ride, a three-day bicycle tour from Lucky's Market in Columbia to Lucky's Market in Ellisville on the Katy Trail.
Trailnet hasn't officially announced this year's ride yet, but Trailnet rides guru Steve Schmidt let us on a few early details: The ride will feature entertainment each night. Breakfast and dinner will be provided. It will certainly be supported in Trailnet's usual style.
Dates: May 1-3, 2015.

Katy Trail Ride - June
The longest running of Missouri's cross-state ride, the Katy Trail Ride, presented by Missouri State Parks, will celebrate its 15th year in 2015.
The ride covers approximately 241 miles of Katy Trail over six days and features great food and many fun activities. The ride usually switches direction each year; 2015 is a west-to-east year. Hot showers are available at each overnight stop, enhancing comfortable campsite settings.
Participation is limited to 350 people so register early to ensure your place on this scenic ride. Registrations will be accepted until May 1 or until the 350 maximum limit is reached. Typically the maximum limit is reached within a few days--or even a few hours--of the time registration opens March 1st.
Dates: June
