The Warrensburg Parks Board set dates for the trail dedication at Lions Lake Park and for Old Drum Best Friends Dog Park’s opening.

The Todd Hamann Trail at Lions Lake will be dedicated Tuesday, Sept. 15, with the time still to be firmed up. Parks Director Dodee Matthews told the parks board Wednesday that everyone involved in the trail project will be invited.

Parks maintenance crews built the 3,800-foot trail, which loops around the lake, with help from the Public Works Department, construction management students from the University of Central Missouri and service members from Whiteman Air Force Base.

The department received a $100,000 grant from the state through the federal Recreational Trails Program to help fund the trail.
