The Grindstone Creek Trail Development project is nearing its final stretch as workers add finishing touches after completing the project’s three main bridges.

The trail, which is set to be open for public use this fall, creates a concrete connection between Maguire Boulevard and the Hinkson Creek trailhead off Old 63. Work began in February. . . .

“I’m a really strong supporter of the trails — I think they’re something that makes Columbia very special,” Leyva said. “If they can get this figured out, I’m very happy that they have this trail.”

MoBikeFed comment: This trail makes an important connection in Columbia across Hwy 63 and to parts of the city that have not previous had good trail access. It is part of the master plan to create a 30-mile trail loop around Columbia.
