The proposal called for four new bike maintenance stations in addition to the one installed in front of Garst Dining Hall earlier this year.

The bike stations allow students and faculty to upkeep their bikes by making sure any impairment their bike may have does not become worse.

With a variety of tools attached to a station, students are able to easily fix minor impairments as well as change tires or chains if they acquire a spare. The stations also have pumps for airing up tires.

MoBikeFed note: The City of Columbia and Missouri State Parks have both been installing similar Bike Stations around Columbia and on the Katy Trail.

The stations have most needed tools and a heavy duty tire pump. The stations have already seen heavy use--and help get many folks, who may not have a bike repair kit or a good pump--on the road or trail with their bicycles.
