The trial begins today for a woman who is accused of killing a pedestrian in a deadly car crash last fall.

Ashley Moore, 18, is charged with one count of misdemeanor careless driving after she allegedly hit two people walking on Rangeline Road in October 2014. . . .

Moore previously told police she was swerving to avoid a second car, but Columbia Police later found no evidence of a second vehicle.

MoBikeFed comment: We much appreciate Columbia police and prosecutors who take cases like this seriously and bring appropriate charges.
