In just two short years, the concept of Vision Zero — eliminating traffic fatalities and severe injuries among all road users — has evolved in the U.S. from an ambitious advocacy appeal to a leading policy imperative in major cities across the country. And, as the graphic below highlights, 2015 saw dramatic growth in the movement.

MoBikeFed comment: Columbia has been looking at a Vision Zero approach as a city task force works to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety after a series of fatalities in the city.

PedNet has recently received a grant to work on creating a Vision Zero policy for the city.

We hope that other Missouri cities will soon chime in with their own approaches to Vision Zero.
