A trail-building fund has been established through the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) to accept donations for Missouri Rock Island Trail, Inc., (MORIT) and help trail supporters donate financially to the project.

Supporters may give cash, land, estates and other transfers tax-free, said MORIT President Chrysa Niewald at the Dec. 3 board meeting.

“People may now give money, stocks and property to the trail project directly through the foundation,” Niewald said during an interview with The Republican.

MoBikeFed comment: MORIT is moving forward at full steam to raise funds for building the new trail. It is going to be a massive project, and support from the community is crucial to its ultimate success.
