Give Ozarks Day was a one-day, online fund-raising event that used the power of Cause Momentum crowd funding. A total of $5,912 was raised for MoRIT among three accounts opened for the event. The event benefited nonprofit agencies across southern Missouri that partner with the Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO). Nonprofit groups in the area took the opportunity to raise funds, complete matches for funds, and award prize fund for trail development. . . .

“The publicity caused our Facebook page followers to spike from 66 for the week to 3,401,” Harris said. “We tend to get about 30 new followers per week and we have already received an additional $1,250 in checks from people who missed the event or preferred to write a check.”

To make a donation to a specific trail project, write a message on the memo line of the check and mail a check to Missouri Rock Island Trail, 1709 Missouri Blvd. Suite 2, No. 119, Jefferson City, Mo., 65109, or give online at www.rockislandtrail.org.
