The downtown St. Louis Riverfront now has a brand new look, with freshly paved bike paths, sidewalks, signs and trees. It officially opens to the public on Thursday.

The 1.5-mile stretch of renovated riverfront runs along Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard. Great Rivers Greenway is spearheading this project, which also extends the Mississippi Greenway.

“Now you’ll be able to go from Chouteau Avenue all the way up to the Chain of Rocks Bridge," said Great Rivers Greenway Project Manager Carey Bundy. "Which is about 12 and a half miles from downtown St. Louis.”
