Washington MO looking to expand its riverfront trail | emissourian.com

Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

It will still be several weeks before the city of Washington finds out if it received a grant to fund an extension of the Rotary Riverfront Trail.

Parks and Recreation Director Darren Dunkle said the city is waiting to hear back from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources on the status of the city’s Recreational Trails Program (RTP) grant application. While it’s still early, he said initial signs are encouraging.

“Unofficially, we’ve been told that everything looks good,” he said.

MoBikeFed comment: Washington's riverfront trail will (most likely) eventually become part of the Katy Trail/Rock Island Trail connection in the Washington Area--making this trail a key part of the statewide trail system.
