A woman hit while walking across north Glenstone Friday night remains in critical condition. It's just the latest in a series of accidents involving pedestrians in that area. But a safer route for walkers is on the way.
Trying to cross busy north Glenstone on foot Friday night caused life threatening injuries for 39 year old Rebecca Distefano.
Ricardo Rodriguez, owner of Ziggie's Cafe on north Glenstone, saw the emergency lights Friday, and it's not the first time. He actually witnessed one accident several months ago.
The Missouri Department of Transportation says there have been 10 pedestrian accidents reported on the stretch of Glenstone between Kearney and I-44 in the last five years.
