Washington city staff is moving forward with a grant application for a biking and walking path that will connect Washington High School and the downtown area.

The city council Monday approved a resolution to submit the grant application for a Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) grant from the East-West Gateway Council of Governments (EWGW) to help fund the Busch Creek Greenway. The path would start at Jefferson and Eighth streets and head east before ultimately connecting with the eastern entrance of the Rotary Riverfront Trail.

The resolution was approved with a 7-1 vote.
