Joplin Trail Coalition cuts ribbon on Ruby Jack trail expansion; will eventually reach KS state line | joplinglobe.com

Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

Trail enthusiasts gathered on Tuesday morning to celebrate the opening of a new section of the Ruby Jack Trail. It was cold and windy and, for some, a good day to warm up on the new 1.5-mile stretch of smooth gravel.

Extending west from Oronogo, it continues a trail project that will eventually reach the Kansas state line.

Smoothly compressed and 12 feet wide in places, the new section is more like the Katy Trail than other sections of the Ruby Jack, some of which were built a decade ago.
