Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

The Chouteau Greenway plan calls for a unique greenway through the heart of St. Louis—from Washington University and Forest Park all the way to Downtown and the Gateway Arch with connections to neighborhoods north and south. Community members, partners and designers will envision the Chouteau Greenway through a design competition. Many partners have come together to create this opportunity to collaborate, setting Design Goals for design teams to guide the competition.

So far, design teams from across the globe submitted their qualifications and the competition jury selected four teams (full press release here). Explore this stage of the competition – see a list of who submitted, the four team’s proposals, the jury’s report, etc by clicking right here.

MoBikeFed comment: This is going to be a major new trail right through the heart of St. Louis, connecting the Arch and riverfront area through downtown, the Central West End, Cortex, and other major business centers to Forest Park.

The project will include sections on a historic railroad trestle.

Altogether this is a major project that will tie a large number of key areas of St. Louis together and will have statewide and national visibility.
