The fourth annual Houston Mayor’s Walking Club wrapped up with a meeting June 14 in the community room at the Lone Star Annex in downtown Houston.

Dubbed the “Healthy Food Healthy Bodies” meeting, the event was attended by 28 people involved in the club, including representatives of four of the 13 corporate sponsors.

“What a wonderful way to get to know the mayor and the community,” said the club’s volunteer coordinator Doris Scheuer. “We want to thank all of our sponsors for making it possible for us to provide T-shirts, the meal, lanyards, pedometers, schedules, advertising and walking schedules.” . . .

This year, an average of 27 walkers participated.
