A public event marking the opening of a new Grant's Trail trailhead and a 2,000-foot trail extension were held Sunday, June 24th, 2018. . . . .

The Mysun foundation donated $1 million to help pay for the new trailhead, which is part of the Great Rivers Greenway trail system. Eleven other foundations, individuals and a business joined to match that contribution.

The new trailhead replaces an old one that closed last fall. It includes a drinking fountain, restrooms, parking, a bicycle fix-it station and other features.

MoBikeFed comment: Further extensions of Grants Trail are planned, to take the trail two miles north and make the final connection to the River des Peres Greenway.
