Tonight the St Charles County bicycle ban was rejected by a unanimous vote of the County Council. However two other bills are still in the works (special regulations for bicyclists and permits for group rides) and they both need some refinement before we can support them.

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to call or email the County Council members. (And sharpen your keyboards and phone dialing fingers--some more calls & emails will likely be needed before the next county Council meeting in two weeks.)

More details about the latest version of the two remaining bills will be coming soon. The good news is, Councilman Brazil has been open to refining the language of the bills and has made several improvements in the language already.
