Cycle for the Future (Special Olympics fundraiser)

DateTime:
09/20/2014 - 6:00am - 09/21/2014 - 4:00pm

Cycle for the Future (www.SOMO.org/CycleForTheFuture) will be debuting Sept. 20-21, 2014. It is a two-day cycling event that will take riders EITHER from St. Charles to Jefferson City or Clinton to Jefferson City. That's right, it will be two simultaneous rides that end in Jefferson City all to benefit the 17,000+ athletes of Special Olympics Missouri.

West Route

  •  121.4 miles
  •  Start in Clinton (Sept. 20)
  •  Camp in Boonville
  •  End in Jefferson City (Sept. 21)

East Route

    •  103.7 miles
    •  Start in St. Charles (Sept. 20)
    •  Camp in Hermann
    •  End in Jefferson City (Sept. 21)

Overnight stops will include cycling demonstrations to help local SOMO athletes work on their cycling skills. While it's very popular in other states and around the world, cycling currently isn't one of SOMO's offered sports. Not only are we trying to raise money for our Training for Life Campus, but we're also wanting to see if our athletes are interested enough in cycling to make it one of our sports.
