Share the road license plates for Missouri?

Several states have "Share the Road" license plates. They raise money for and awareness of bicycle and pedestrian safety. To make this happen in Missouri we need to raise $5000 and get a list of 200 people interested in buying the plates by June 30th, 2007.

You can see samples of Share the Road License Plates from other states here.

You can make a tax-deductible donation towards this effort and simultaneously register yourself as one of the 200 people interested in purchasing the plates by filling out the form below.

Any donation, from $5 to $5000, is welcome!

To make an online donation using a credit card, enter the amount you would like to donate to the Foundation here:

What your donation will be used for

Our intention is to earmark any donation made from this page to help pay Missouri's $5000 specialty license plate fee to create Share the Road license plates in Missouri. However if our fund raising falls far short of the $5000 goal or it becomes infeasible to pursue Share the Road license plates for some other reason, then any donations will be used to further the normal operations of the Foundation, which include bicycle and pedestrian safety and education (see below). Any money raised above the needed $5000 will be used to cover incidental costs related to the Share the Road license plates or for normal operations of the Foundation.

Your donation is tax deductible

The Missouri Bicycle Foundation conducts educational activities around the state of Missouri. One of our main goals is to teach and encourage adults and youngsters to bicycle safely. We are working closely with the new Safe Routes to Schools program in to Missouri to encourage many more young people to bicycle and walk to school safely.

The Missouri Bicycle Foundation is a corporation organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.

You may deduct donations from your federally-taxable income. Please contact a tax professional for the details of deducting such a donation. A copy of the Foundation's IRS exemption letter is available here (PDF format, 650KB)
