How to put MoBikeFed headlines into a web page

Simple Script method

You can put MoBikeFed headlines into any web page by including a bit of HTML in the page. A sample of how this might look is on the right-hand side of this page. The HTML code you need is below--just copy & paste.

For a summary of all headlines on the site (news, advocacy, and cycling tips):

For Missouri Bicycle News:

For Advocacy Alerts:

For Cycling Tips & Stories:

For Event Calendar Listings:

You can specify how many headlines are displayed by including a parameter like "?number=5", for example: Calendar listing of 5 events

For calendar listings you can specify type of event or area of the state for the listing by using the parameter "cat_id". For instance "?cat_id=16" shows Kansas City events, "?cat_id=17" shows St. Louis events, "?cat_id=30" shows one-time and yearly events (omitting weekly & monthly events). "Select region or event type" on the Calendar page and examine the URL to see other examples of cat_id to use.

Sample CSS style elements that will work with any of the above feeds (insert the style elements somewhere in the web page before the including the script elements above):

PHP method

If you can run PHP scripts, you can easily put MoBikeFed's news, advocacy alerts, and cycling tips headlines on your web site. If you can run PHP, this method works a little better than the "Script method" outlined above.

Whether or not you can run PHP scripts depends on the capabilities of your web server.

Adding the headlines to your web site is as simple as including one small PHP file and two simple lines of code for each group of headlines you wish to include.
