Missouri Bicycle Clubs and Advocacy Organizations

The Missouri Bicycle Federation is an umbrella organization of individual bicyclists and bicycle clubs and groups from around Missouri. The goal of the Missouri Bicycle Federation is to represent all bicyclists and bicycle-related organizations in Missouri.

  • MoBikeFed Member: Ozark Trail Association--builds and maintains the Ozark Trail, over 350 miles of trail complete in the southeast section of Missouri. All of the trail is open for hiking and most is open for equestrian use and for single-track mountain biking.
  • Volkssport Clubs--Volkssporting features mainly simple, noncompetitive, self-paced leisure walks but also includes other activities such as bicycling, swimming, and cross-country skiing. (There is another list of Missouri Volkssport clubs and events at AVA.org.)

Its purpose is to offer outdoor recreational opportunities and to educate and train its members in outdoor skills. The club has meetings and activities several times a month; some are bicycle related.

  • Belleville Area Bicycling and Eating Society--St. Louis-area group dedicated to (you guessed it) eating and bicycling.
  • Banana Bike Brigade--they can make any event, parade or party go from plain ol' to bananarific in the blink of an eye. STLBike News--cycling news from the St. Louis area.
  • BicycleWORKS--Teaching kids vocational skills and recycling bikes.
  • Conservion--promotes vehicular style bicycle transportation for personal mobility, health, and environmental reasons. Monthly rides start and end at The Whistle Stop, Ferguson, and are typically of around 6 miles or so with educational stops en route.
