Description:
US Route 69 has wide shoulders west of the I-29 to US Route 169 Southbound underpass. It has sidewalks inside the city of Riverside. It has sidewalks or a bike lane both North and East of MO 183 and North Oak.
There are two sections needing a bike lane to bridge the gap.
1. A US Route 69 bridge over a creek inside Riverside which has no shoulder
2. Between US Route 1-69 and MO 183.
This would give a direct connection from Riverside and Northmoor and a shopping center in Kansas City for groceries, home repair goods, office supplies and the like.
Importance:
It connects southern Clay and Platte Counties together
US Route 169 is a barrier across much of the area and this is one of a very few sections that connects to as many major routes directly.
This stretch could give access all the way to Parkville with future extensions
