Description:
There is currently no complete sidewalk system along busy Highway 8 in the City of Potosi. Furthermore, the majority of existing sidewalks on Highway 8 are not ADA compliant. The Highway 8 sidewalks in the City of Potosi service the major retail area as well as the majority of the school system.

Importance:
A completed ADA compliant sidewalk system along Hwy 8 through the City of Potosi would encourage retail growth in an economically distressed area. The project would allow connectivity to major institutions such as the library, government offices, schools as well as the retail area of the city while encouraging exercise via pedestrian access. The City of Potosi would commit in-kind labor and a portion of the funding for the project.

Obstacles:
Engineering work and funding would be the major obstacles to the project.
