Description:
The current roadway is narrow and there are no shoulders and road surface is poor. Project would resurface roadway widen roadway and add 2-3 foot shoulders.

Importance:
This roadway is a portion of the Trans America bike trail. There is heavy traffic due to ramps leading on and off of interstate 55. A rock quarry is located along the roadway and large trucks enter and exit roadway consistently Monday through Friday. This is an extremely dangerous situation that could be remedied. The roadway connects to State Highway 61 and the Mississippi River Trail. Adding shoulders would protect repaved roadway. THis route leads to several local wineries.
