Missouri High Priority Bike/Ped/ADA Projects

Area leading to Jefferson Elementary Sidewalks and Crossing, and shoulders Farmington (10PAR1143)

Status:

City: Farmington.    Route: D and EE Highway    Location: From north city limits on D Highway to intersection of EE thence east to city limits. (distance of 1.2 miles)

Type: pedestrian, bicycle, ADA, school safety

Description:
There is a high density of multi-family residential and single family residential adjacent to the routes with no pedestrian access to the existing sidewalks constructed by the city. Jefferson elementary school is on the corridor and there is not a suitable sidewalk or crossing for safe access to the school.

Importance:
High density of users and school. This project will impact a large number of current users on an existing route system. Has previously been submitted fpr a Safe Routes to School Grant which was not approved, will be submitted again.

Obstacles:
None noted. The City of Farmington will partner with MoDOT to complete the project.
