Advocacy Alert! Support the Tour of Missouri today

The Missouri Division of Tourism has cut all state support for the 2010 Tour of Missouri.

We're asking fans of the Tour of Missouri to contact key elected officials to ask them to support the Tour of Missouri in 2010--it will take only a small amount of state support to make the Tour happen again in 2010, but if the Tour disappears for 2010 it will be gone forever.

Support the Tour of Missouri: Sample letter of support

The following letter can serve as a model that you can copy, paste, or adapt as you like when you call, email, write, or fax your elected officials asking them to support the 2010 Tour of Missouri:

Senate Hearing Jan 27th on bill to ban texting while driving

Senator Ryan McKenna has introduced SB701, a bill to ban texting while driving for drivers of all ages.

Last year a bill was passed banning texting while driving for drivers under the age of 21.  McKenna's bill will expand the prohibition on texting to all drivers.

Reducing distracted driving--one of the top causes of motor vehicle injuries and deaths--is one of the top priorities in MoBikeFed's Legislative Platform

Should MoDOT's future funding include bike/ped?

A group called the Missouri Transportation Alliance is currently taking public feedback as they start to create a plan to deal with MoDOT's current massive funding shortfall. This is the same basic group who wrote and passed Amendment 3 in 2004.

14 OCT 2009: Ask Sen. Bond to support CLEAN-TEA

Missouri's Senator Bond is on a key committee that is making decisions about pending Climate Change legislation.

Whatever you think about the Climate Change legislation itself, if it is passed, doesn't it make sense to seriously address one of the root causes of Climate Change in the U.S. in this bill?
