Redesigned,, improved Citi Bikes hitting New York streets this month | NY Daily News

Headlines are quick hits from media outlets from Missouri and around the world. Follow the headline link for the full story. The source of this headline says:

Citi Bike is getting a major makeover.

The clunky blue bikes have been redesigned by a world famous Olympic racing bike designer and will make their Big Apple debut later this month, officials said.

One thousand of the new bikes — which are still bright blue and plastered with the Citi logo — will begin hitting the streets in a week, officials said.

Another 1,400 of the new bikes will be added to the system later this year, when Citi Bike kicks off its expansion deeper into Brooklyn and Queens.

MoBikeFed comment: The continuing refinement in bike share programs and infrastructure around the country are an indication of the maturation of the industry. It is becoming normalized in cities around the country.

We're still waiting for the day when bike share in Missouri expands beyond Kansas City.
