Description:
At every intersection with street name signs, when it is being painted for any reason, Sharrows shall be painted at the marked or unmarked crosswalk approaching and leaving in each direction. Locations for the bicyclist to cross for a left turn, right turn, and straight ahead shall be marked. Roads that bicyclist are not permitted should have a bicycle with an X before and after should be marked. (St Charles I-70 bridge over the Missouri, Popular Street bridge, MLK bridge).
Striping to establish bicycle lanes should be removed and replaced with sharrows. Bicycle lane striping keeps bicycles in the Door Zone, creating dooring accidents, cars out and lets debris accumulate, which then forces bicyclists out into the traffic lane. Also makes the bicyclist liable for Improper Lane Change if they are struck after crossing the bicycle lane line for road conditions.
Importance:
Sharrows reduce bicycle riding in the wrong direction, too close to the curb, or on the sidewalk. Sharrows educate motorists to expect bicyclists, where bicyclists should be expected, and that bicyclists have the right to the road. Location where bicyclist should ride on the road is not included with "Share The Road" signs and most motorist have the wrong idea on what this sign means.

Obstacles:
Lack of Complete the Roads legislation. Slight increase in every projects cost.
