Description:
Create and periodically update a statewide trails plan, with trail corridors identified and prioritized, and a list of projects of statewide significance identified and prioritized.
Importance:
DNR has done a little planning around this but it has never been done if a comprehensive way for the entire state. By identifying needs and priorities it will help improve effectiveness of funding, much of which comes through or is administered by MoDOT.
Obstacles:
Coordinating among various agencies, municipalities, user groups.
