City: Jefferson City.    Route: Business 50    Location: Selected stretch of Missouri Boulevard: On south side of the street, between Eagles Lodge and Kohl's.

Description:
Fill in gaps in sidewalk on Missouri Boulevard (Business Highway 50) from Eagles Lodge to Kohl's on the south side of the street. Will also connect to a sidewalk on Southwest Boulevard and to Jefferson City Greenway. The area already has some sidewalks so this is sidewalk fill-in for the remainder.

Importance:
1. City of Jefferson + MODOT have already agreed this is a good plan. The only obstacle is money. 2. The current Missouri Boulevard is a model of what a road should NOT be: myriad business driveways, only sporadic sidewalks, and unsafe pedestrian crossings at intersections.

Obstacles:
Because of cost, sidewalks are a hot-button issue in Jefferson City, especially for existing roadways. There is also a mistaken perception that pedestrians and cyclists do not belong on Missouri Boulevard. Allocation of scarce financial resources.
