Description:
There is a great deal of confusion, among cyclists and motorists, regarding the meaning of the diamond shaped "Share the Road" sign. Some believe, mistakenly, that it denotes a bike route. A growing number of cities are using "Bicycles Allowed Full Use of Lane" signage instead, which is unambiguous and alerts drivers to the presence of cyclists and, one would hope, contribute to greater patience by all road users.

Importance:
Low costs, alerts road users to potential hazard with maximum clarity. Could be a change going forward rather than retroactive.
