Bicycles and Trains – The Perfect Match

More and more people are discovering how well bicycle and train travel go together, whether it’s for commuting to work, enjoying a weekend ride, or participating in a bicycle tour. Done safely and conscientiously, it’s the perfect marriage of modes to let you experience Northern California and boost your well-being at the same time.

On Board Bicycle Storage

Each Capitol Corridor train car has three bike racks on the lower level, and at least one car has large-capacity storage to hold about a dozen bicycles, as well as luggage and other large items.

Starting in May 2014, you may notice that some Capitol Corridor trains will have a second car with large-capacity storage. Capitol Corridor is taking first steps towards rolling out its Bicycle Access Plan, with the goal of nearly doubling the bike storage capacity of each train. Eventually, the plan is for all trains to consistently have this extra storage in order to better meet demand and facilitate bike boarding for passengers. In the meantime, we'll be doing our best to increase storage on the busiest trains whenever possible.
