Police are trying to piece together the details Monday night after a 14-year-old bicyclist was seriously injured.

Officers responded around 5 p.m. to US Highway 40 and Kirby Road on reports of a juvenile struck by a car.

The 14-year-old male was on a bicycle at the time of the incident. It is believed he was trying to cross the road when he was hit by the vehicle.
